Marriage can reveal a lot of things about who we are and who are spouses really are too. The dating period is over and if there was any pretense, your true self is now manifested in the flesh. It is not surprising that after a while you begin to think you married the wrong person. Most of the time, this thought arises as a result of differences in opinions, philosophy, ideology, faith, habits and sometimes interests. For the genuine, it would take time and mutual compromises to adjust in marriage and maintain harmony in the relationship. I was presented with a similar situation and these are my thoughts. Someone asked if Christianity and clubbing go together. What do you think? Is is OK for a Christian to go clubbing, if yes, are there any no go areas and if no why not?

Some people associate clubbing with binge drinking, one night stands, violence and public nudity while there are those that feel it just a time to socialise and move the feet.  Read the rest of this entry »

Naked and Unashamed in Marriage

February 17th, 2008 by Pele Odiase Dating relationships, marriage love christian family

Hand in hand they walked in the garden in gentle strides enjoying the cool of the day. The sounds of whistling birds and waters flowing downstream always made the evening promenade pleasant. But wait a minute, the man and his wife haven’t got any clothes on and it didn’t seem to bother them. They loved each other and discovering that she was the bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh was a divine revelation. Read the rest of this entry »

Virgins, virginity and the purpose of sex

February 13th, 2008 by Pele Odiase Dating relationships, marriage love christian family

A virgin is a woman who still has her hymen intact which mean she hasn’t had sexual intercourse with any man. I don’t think having oral sex, kissing, romance and the likes without intercourse deflowers a woman even though there are people that think it does. However, this isn’t a license to indulge in sexual acts outside the confines of marriage remember you have already guilty of sin by thinking of it in your heart. And as a man thinks so is he. Challenges of being a man and a man of God

February 12th, 2008 by Pele Odiase Dating relationships, marriage love christian family

One phrase that spoke volumes to me was spoken by Bishop T.D. Jakes. He said in his book  He-Motions: Even Strong Men Struggle (also in CD) that “Every boy needs a father, and a man does too”. It gave me the opportunity to reflect and think about my childhood, growing up into life, finding my path in life, discerning God’s plan for me, and finding my identity and significance. The challenges of being a man is high, being a man of God requires more of the man. Read the rest of this entry »

Being unequally yoked

February 11th, 2008 by Pele Odiase Dating relationships, marriage love christian family

In the post 2 Factors to consider when building a strong and dynamic dating relationship we examined two factors to consider when building a dynamic relationship. Being of like-minded in faith is very crucial for the believer. Both parties need to be singing the same song from the same hymn sheet otherwise there is bound to be disharmony. What to look for in the girl you are dating

February 10th, 2008 by Pele Odiase Dating relationships, marriage love christian family

This is a follow up to What to look for in the guy you are dating. Ideally the man should do the finding while the girl should position herself where she can be found. You seem to have found the girl, established contact and agreed to go out on a date, and the question may arise, “what should you be looking out for in the girl?”.

Beauty and external body endowments most probably were the first things that attracted you to her but there are more to it that meets the eye. Read the rest of this entry »

God’s Idea of a Christian Family

February 7th, 2008 by Ajomabi Oride Dating relationships, marriage love christian family

Wives, submit to your own husbands as is fitting in the Lord. Whether you are a full time house wife, or a career woman or a political figure, the bible’s injunction is that you submit to your husband.

You may be earning more than he does, it doesn’t matter, what matters is, you must submit to him. You may be a very beautiful woman that everyone admires, notwithstanding, you must submit to your husband. Read the rest of this entry »

Understanding Insurance

February 6th, 2008 by Isaac Madengu Dating relationships, marriage love christian family

Yes, you can actually come to the point when you love insurance and it becomes a good idea to be covered. Insurance is essential! It is important you understand it so it makes sense to you and covers you when you need it. I have come to a point where I know that whatever I do not understand I hate. It has now become an automatic thing, I simply default to hating whatever I cannot get my head round. Understanding or at least coming to terms with things that affect me has become my number one priority. Read the rest of this entry »
