From what you've asked, it appears both of you are saying the same thing. If a person is born again and genuinely saved, they would have the holy spirit in them and a conscience that would lead them to repentance whenever they fall and then ask for forgiveness. If on the other hand, sin no longer means anything or they have a seared conscience, you would begin to question their salvation. It is possible for someone to be saved and lose that salvation and regarded as a backslider.

I can understand where you are coming from however, in what sense do you regard the quote an abomination? Does it go against scriptures?

Hello :)

In a nutshell, I, along with my boyfriend, are doing a lot of searching, both collectively and individually, right now in regards to salvation. He believes according to how he was raised, which is that when an individual asks Jesus to become his/her saviour for the first time and gives his/her life over to Him, all of their sins are forgiven, past, present, and future. He believes that salvation cannot be lost or given up, and if someone ends up in perpetual sin, that they were never genuinely saved in the first place.

I, on the other hand, have been raised in the belief that any time an individual sins, they must ask forgiveness for that sin and are separated from God until they ask forgiveness for that sin. If the trumpet sounds and there is sin in one's life that they have not asked forgiveness for, then they will spend an eternity in the lake of fire.

Do you have any input or insight that you would share? We are attempting to glean as much input as possible from lots of sources, and any thoughts are welcome and appreciated. Thanks!

I felt like throwing up when I got to the part: "Brush and wash properly and regularly that is if you want kisses or A HEAD." To have this along with verses from Scripture seems an abomination to me.

I read what you wrote about Honor your father and mother...you gave only half that scripture. It also, mention that parents not to provoke their children...why do you and most parents only use the first part of that scripture...my opinion, parents use it as a way to control young kids or adult children for fear, control and dominate....parents have no right to provoke their children what so ever God said, He knew parent would use this in a negative way, so he add a part for children, my opinion, first part of that scripture is null and void, when parents PROVOKE their children into a situation that would cause them to show dishonor, so that scripture was not written only for parents...and you said also, no matter what kind of parent they are, wrong again, kids don't have put up with or deal with a parent who would mentally, physically and or sexually abuse, neglect their children, no child could honor a parent for that, it becomes a provoke. My kids know the whole scripture, it was written for both, not just parents.
