In hindsight, I would have spent more time thinking about the name to call my first website. Then, I was very excited at the prospect of establishing a web presence and was armed with little knowledge about how to go about it. It was more like a trial and error thing. Jumbling codes here and there and visualising the result was enough fun for me then. I didn’t have anything to promote or sell then, so probably that approach was fine as I had nothing at stake. But today, for each site I design I recommend that some thought be given to choosing a name the website. Read the rest of this entry »

Finding a wife could be a daunting task and every responsible man would seek to find a wife that would complement him. I suppose we all have our dream wife, and can list the criteria she must meet to qualify.

Almost everyone would say that education is expensive, especially with the introduction of top up fees in universities and the ever increasing tuition fees international students have to pay. In my opinion, ignorance is more expensive. We actually pay a lot to the doctors, lawyers, accountants etc for their expect advice just because we want information. If this article interests you, it means you have a desire to have multiple income streams. Different schools of thoughts exist. Some schools give valid reasons why you should not have a job but rather run your own business. Others schools do not support the idea of taking the risk and as they would ask ‘why re-invent the wheel?’ Well you can have the best of both worlds if you are able to. There is always risk involved in starting and running a business but come on we take risks everyday. Besides, the risk is minimal if you get the right information and mentor. Most people underestimate the importance of a photographer when planning of special events such as weddings, anniversaries, christening etc. events that may only comes ones in a life time. Wedding planning requires careful thought, realistic plans, adequate time, concentration, family support, friends etc, and of course money. In my opinion the first thing that needs to be done is a budget. We had 7 months to prepare for our weddings, from engagement to saying ‘I do’. I said weddings because we had two.
The first was the traditional wedding to fulfil all native rights and customs, payment of bride price and dowry, and the second 2 months later was what we call the ‘white wedding’ which basically is the church wedding ceremony. What are we like! 2 weddings for one marriage, after all that you cannot contemplate a divorce, you’ve got to do all you can to make the marriage work. Read the rest of this entry »

One of the TV programs I take keen interest in watching is CSI – Crime Scene Investigation. Apart from the gruesomeness of the murders being investigated, it is a brilliant program. The perpetrators of the crimes always get caught by the mere intelligence of the investigations. My devotion to this TV series made me ponder for a while in a bid to find out the sources of my enthusiasm. A couple of weeks ago, I finally found the answer to my questions.
