Today marks another anniversary of the 7th July London bombings—a sobering reminder of the day terror struck the heart of the UK. Fifty-two innocent lives were lost, hundreds injured, and countless families changed forever. For many, the memory remains vivid—a scar etched into the national memory and a warning of the world we live in.
Nearly twenty years later, we find ourselves surrounded by even greater turmoil.
There are wars and rumours of wars.
Nations are rising against nations.
Innocent blood is being shed across Ukraine, Gaza, Sudan, Israel, Haiti, and beyond. People are displaced, lives disrupted, families torn apart. From political unrest to economic collapse, natural disasters to senseless violence—the world feels heavy, uncertain, and increasingly unstable.
And yet, in the midst of it all, we are still here.
This is not something to take for granted.
If you have breath in your lungs, food to eat, a roof over your head, and people who love you—you are blessed.
If you have peace, even if only for today, it is a gift.
If your heart is still tender to the pain of others, that is grace.
So today, let us pause.
Let us remember those who were lost—not only in London on 7/7, but across the globe where war and wickedness continue to rage.
Let us thank God for our lives and for every person we hold dear.
Let us resist the temptation to live in fear or indifference.
Let us pray—for peace, for justice, for mercy, for divine intervention.
“You will hear of wars and rumours of wars… but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.” — Matthew 24:6
Now more than ever, we must fix our eyes on God. The signs of the times are all around us—but so is His faithfulness. In every season, He calls us to trust Him, to stand in the gap, and to shine His light.
Pray. Love. Be grateful. Stay ready.
May God comfort those who mourn, protect the innocent, and bring healing to the nations.
